New Year's Eve and New Year's Day are the perfect opportunities to enjoy a sparkling wine cocktail. To that end, I was asked to join News 10 in Sacramento on Sunday morning for a spot on these tasty concoctions. Tune in during the 8:00am hour where I'll share 3 recipes using Prosecco, and 1 using sparkling apple cider for the youngers in your crowd. I created this play on a mai tai with the help of my buddy Charlene–fortunately for me, she is ALWAYS willing to help when it comes to white wine and its sparkly cousin. Fizzy Mai Tai
Prosecco or Cava
3/4 oz dark rum
2 tsp Maraschino cherry juice from jar
Place rum and cherry juice in a chilled champagne flute. Fill glass to 2/3 full with Prosecco. Top with a splash of oj and garnish with a lemon twist.
